Faith Supreme are a multigenerational gospel-soul choir from Philadelphia, bringing together the emotional force of Black church music and the sophistication of the city’s soul tradition.
Typically gathering around two dozen singers, the ensemble is fluid in size and configuration, with its exact line-up changing according to the music and occasion. Soaring upper voices, rich harmonies and resonant lower registers give Faith Supreme a sound capable of moving from intimate prayer to overwhelming collective power.
Musical director Jerome Whitaker shapes that sound through gospel piano and Hammond organ, Philadelphia-style strings and horns, electric piano, melodic bass and live drums. Principal voices emerge naturally from within the choir, moving between intimate testimony, quiet-storm soul, joyful soprano fire, gritty tenor leads and grounded baritone authority.
Drawing from 1970s gospel soul, Philadelphia soul, funk, traditional hymns and the scale of mass-choir gospel, Faith Supreme remain defined by one central idea: one voice becomes a section, a section becomes the choir, and the choir becomes something larger than any one singer.
Faith Supreme are not simply a choir behind a soloist. Faith Supreme are the artist.

Kept by Grace is the debut album from Faith Supreme, a Philadelphia gospel-soul choir whose music begins with faith tested, carried and ultimately sustained. Across the album, the ensemble sings of endurance, prayer, gratitude, struggle and the grace that remains when life has taken something out of you. The sound draws together the communal force of the Black church tradition with the warmth, elegance and orchestral sweep of Philadelphia soul, giving these songs both spiritual weight and musical richness. Kept by Grace is not about a life untouched by hardship. It is about standing together after the storm, still believing, still singing and knowing exactly what brought you through.
