Stardust

From the “Only The Best” album

Released: September 4, 2026

Stardust reveals the more intimate side of Tony Medley’s debut album. Hoagy Carmichael’s melody, later paired with Mitchell Parish’s lyric, has drawn generations of singers into its world of memory, distance and love that lingers after it has gone. Among its most celebrated vocal recordings is Nat King Cole’s 1957 reading on Love Is the Thing. Tony approaches the song with restraint rather than melodrama, allowing its famous melody and bittersweet pull to carry the weight. As the second single from Only The Best, Stardust broadens the picture of Tony as a crooner: beneath the showman’s confidence sits a quieter, more reflective voice.

Lyrics
Soft in the hush of evening When the silver moon is high I hear an old familiar tune Drifting through the sky Memories start returning Like a melody we knew Every star above me seems To whisper back to you Just like stardust falling Through a midnight sky of blue All the dreams we shared before Come shining softly through Like stardust glowing Every moment that we knew Lives forever in the music Of my heart with you Though the years may wander And the days may drift apart Still that tender song remains Playing in my heart Just like stardust falling Through a midnight sky so wide All the love we dreamed before Is shining by my side Like stardust glowing Soft and timeless through and through Every star above reminds me Of my love for you So when the night grows quiet And the lonely skies are blue I’ll hear the song of stardust And remember you
